C4 mulls moving Bank Job to daytime slot

Quote:
Channel 4 interactive gameshow The Bank Job could be pushed back to a daytime slot in a move that would likely include a number of changes to the format.
Broadcast understands that C4 is mulling the move, and several sources suggested that the show was being lined up to play in late afternoons, in a similar position to Deal Or No Deal. C4 declined to give any indication of its thinking.
The change in slot would almost certainly mean a reduction in tariff and would mean the show is pre-recorded rather than live.
Endemol’s Remarkable Television produces the show, in which players compete under time pressure to open up individual vaults that either contain money, allow them to steal their competitor’s money, or cause them to lose every-thing they have collected.
The objective of the game is to collect as much money as possible without getting locked into the vault when a time-limit expires. Two series of The Bank Job, hosted by George Lamb, have been broadcast in primetime to date.
The first six-part runs, stripped from Monday to Saturday, attracted an average consolidated audience of 1.21 million (5.26%).
The second 10-part series was moved to Friday and Saturday nights, mirroring The Million Pound Drop Live scheduling, and attracted an audience of 1.15 million (4.62%).
One source said: “The show has been under pressure in the limelight of primetime. Deal Or No Deal is incredibly strong, but they need another strong show in daytime and it is healthy to keep trying other things.”
