Default 'Mystery' blue sheep appear in Germany...

A flock of bright blue sheep has been spotted in Germany.

The animals, which are plastic and painted from head to toe in vibrant blue paint, have been seen outside the historic Schwerin Castle.

They have been placed there as part of an elaborate art installation, Metro reports.

The installation, created by German artists Rainer Bonk and Bertamaria Reetz, is designed around the theme of equality, tolerance and solidarity.

Artificial blue sheep have reportedly been seen in more than 50 cities and fields all across the world over the past three years, promoting the message that 'All are equal - everyone is important'.

A single blue sheep is left behind in each city visited by the installation, remaining as a peace ambassador.
