COPPE Star Glaser THE word on the street is...Starsky’s going into the house!

American superstar Paul Michael Glaser, 63, has signed a megabucks deal to appear in the new Celebrity Big Brother.

The actor – who found fame on TV’s Starsky And Hutch police show in the 70s – is said to be thrilled at the prospect. And Channel 4 bosses are delighted.

Glaser hit the big time in 1975 when he signed to play hunky detective Dave Starsky. He and David Soul – who played Hutch – became major stars worldwide. However, tragedy hit the star’s life. His first wife Elizabeth and daughter Aerial died after Elizabeth had a blood transfusion later found to be infected with HIV.

Two years after the death of his wife, Glaser met Tracy Barone. They are now married and have a daughter, Zoe.

Celebrity Big Brother will return to our screens in January.

Others tipped for the new show include Baywatch’s David Hasselhoff, Diff’rent Strokes star Gary Coleman and loudmouth MP Clare Short.
