Prince Lorenzo Borghese is a member of the Italian noble family, the House of Borghese, a cosmetics entrepreneur, animal advocate, and star of the ninth series of the U.S series The Bachelor.

Born in Milan, his parents are Prince Francesco and Princess Amanda Borghese. He lived in Rome and Paris before moving to Connecticut at five years old.

Lorenzo’s ancestors include Pope Paul V (Camillo Borghese) and Cardinal Scipione Borghese. The Villa Borghese is the largest park in Rome and the Borghese family’s name and crest can be found on the facade of St. Peter’s Basillica. They were one of the largest owners of property and art throughout Italy.

Lorenzo admits: “My family opens doors. To be successful in business, you need as much of an advantage as you can get.”

In 2003, Borghese started Royal Treatment, a line of luxury pet care products. Currently the company offers around 100 products ranging from shampoos and treats to beds and odour removers.

In the U.S, Lorenzo is best known for his part in the 2006 series of The Bachelor, the reality TV dating show that presents an eligible young man with a number of potential romantic partners. He admits, “A lot of American girls like this whole royal fairy tale.”

In December 2010, his first novel, ‘The Princess of Nowhere’ was released. The story is a fictional romance novel re-imagining of the life of Lorenzo’s direct ancestor, Princess Pauline Bonaparte (Napoleon’s sister), who became Princess Pauline Bonaparte Borghese after her marriage to Prince Camillo Borghese.

Lorenzo, is a charming Prince, he freely admits ‘putting a title in front of your name makes you sound arrogant and a snob, and that is not how I want to be viewed.
