Julie is in danger of becoming irrelevant to a new generation. Her last Corrie appearance was awhile ago and not really a success.

Hey presto shes made a name for herself by being duplicitous crude untrustworthy and bitchy. Why not play up to that. People thinks shes an awful demanding rude diva anyway.

Julie in BB is now up there with danica and michael as most talked about.

Her panto fee will increase as shes relevant and in focus once more. This may not be PC but unlike age contemporary or 50+ older actors (Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Alec Baldwin etc) shes too old to be a sex symbol* or ingenue. On UK TV only older 50+ males have got series eg Simon Cowell, John Thaw (RIP), David Jason, Martin Clunes, Gary Lineker etc). Cilla Black struggles to make a comeback as has Ferne Briton and that older female sued BBC for age discrimination. Caroline Quentin has moaned acting roles have dried up and Amanda Burton said she had to lobby for her Waterloo Road role.

Once women get to 50+ they can be bitchy and get away with it eg Anne Robinson, Sharon Osbourne, Joan Rivers etc. Its not as if she will do a photoshoot in Nuts or land a part as a sexy police detrctive in a new ITV drama. The main way women her age can be visible - sadly - is bitching and besmirching. Cutting commrnts and duplicity are accepted once a woman is no longer at an age where shes judged on her sexual allure.


The Downton Abbey character played by Dame Maggie Smith gets brilliantly cutting one-liners that would never go to younger actress/ character.
