US viewers upset with Nicole Scherzinger 'orgasm' in new Herbal Essences ad
Quote:
Viewers say No, No, No to Herbal Essences’ Yes, Yes, Yes

Like many other award shows and special programming, advertising space comes at a premium, with many marketers looking to these opportunities to launch new campaigns.
This year at the Grammys, both Twix and Snickers released new ads and Anheuser-Busch InBev refreshed the Bud Light Platinum brand with Justin Timberlake as its new spokesperson and Creative Director, but Herbal Essences’ new ad campaign was what caused a big stir in social media with over 18k conversations within hours around their “throwback” ad featuring Nicole Scherzinger.
However this ad had a mixed response, with 25% of the conversation skewing negatively, which negatively affected the entire campaign:
- "inopropriate. i have kids who watch tv with me and hear those noises! Why are some many comercials now days have some for of sexual crap in them!"
- "How the hell did she shampoo, rinse, and dry her hair in an airplane bathroom? And with all those "O" noises, does Nicole now qualify for the Mile High Club?"
- "Nicole Scherzinger does **** WTF"
- "If you have a good product....you don't need to use sex to sell it. Just sayin'...."
- "I thought you were targeting sells to girls and women. Does everything have to be about sex? You may as well go ahead jump on the girl on girl train that is running through our living rooms right now! That should sell your product! Your 90's commercial does nothing to promote sales with women but instead makes us uncomfortable and boarders on sexual harassment. You could advertise that with repeated use you could bring out the **** star in anyone!"
