I know I rushed back to be at my mothers bedside a terrible journey I will never forget, and I was praying she didn't die before I could get there. she didn't, she died 4 hours later wiith ALL her family around her. so pardon me if I think it a little strange that NEITHER child is present at their mothers final moments.
Maybe Carol was busy with her TV work and Mark well maybe he couldn't find his way back to London. he's not too hot on directions....!!!!!

We still don't know...for all we know she may have told them not to make the journey, it would have alerted the media if they had rushed there, they could have had a much more private goodbye previously. When my grandfather was dying he begged my mum to leave the hospital as he didn't want her memories tainted of that. My mum initially refused and he begged her to go...in the end she popped home for a shower (after spending 48 hours by his bedside) and he died minutes after she left. Not everyone wants the same thing and as we are not privy to that information it is merely speculation and drawing on personal experience.
