Organisers of the 2013 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix have announced that singing superstar Rihanna will headline their spectacular race day concert at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday, September 22.

The Barbados-born singer, who has sold over 41 million albums and 150 million digital tracks worldwide, will perform at Singapore’s biggest outdoor stage as part of her ‘2013 Diamonds World Tour’. Entry to the performance on the Padang stage is included with any three-day Grand Prix ticket or Sunday single-day Pit Grandstand special ticket.

Rihanna has dominated global charts with Diamonds, the fastest-rising single of her career to date and the first single to be released from Unapologetic, her seventh studio album for Island Def Jam in just seven years.

The recipient of six Grammy Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards, she currently holds the record as the top-selling digital artist of all time. Forbes named Rihanna as the world’s number-one social media star, with over 2.9 billion views on YouTube - the most ever for any female artiste - over 63 million Facebook fans, and more than 27 million Twitter followers.

As well as hosting Rihanna on race day and rock group The Killers post-qualifying on Saturday, for the first time, Singapore Grand Prix organisers will be extending the weekend festivities with a power-packed closing concert featuring another global superstar on Monday, September 23. The complete star-studded line-up for this separately-ticketed event will be unveiled shortly.
