Callum is playing a game and always has been. He isn't showing his real self because he hasn't got enough personality/is unstable and he needs to feed off other people to make himself visible and stand out. He creates persona's that pair him with others so he has a story line: - whether that is Mr. Nice guy - in love with Charlie - the victim of Dexter.
None of those persona's/games has gone the way he wanted them too because they are all fake - but while he is game playing he begins to believe they are real and he can't handle how he has failed in everything he tries. Dan called him out for Mr.Nice guy; Charlie nominated him; Dexter is proving more difficult than he thought and it's getting under his skin. The only time I see him as real in is his relationship with Sam. The guy is basically insecure, is easily unhinged and with social mannerisms that often make others feel uncomfortable. He seems to have an internal rage that is becoming more pronounced with each failure. His speech to Charlie about losing him as a 'fan' was odd and uncomfortable to watch and his tirade against Dexter was just OTT and disturbing. And talking to himself in the kitchen - that is the lifeblood of the game player. Aaron anyone? Don't get me wrong - I'm no lover of Dexter. But how could that little strutty manchild with his tall tales and silly talk MAKE anyone feel 'unworthy' or 'worthless' unless they wanted to milk the life out of it? I don't buy it for a minute. His latest venture of being Dexters victim has him in it's grip and he even believes it himself - the man needs an intervention pronto. Last edited by jet; 01-08-2013 at 09:00 AM. |
