If other parts of the forum were serious all the time then that would be a great reason not to count Chat and Games. But it isn't. It's a Big Brother forum not the Royal Institution, who's to say what should count as a relative and valid post and what shouldn't? A post is a post, regardless of what it contains. If I post a smiley in General Chat, it's still a post.

If post counts don't matter, why do we have them at all? No one would care if there were no post counts.
