Default Len McCluskey tells Ed Miliband: turn left or lose election

[Labour leader will lose next election unless
he offers more than 'pale shade of austerity',
Unite trade union chief warns as he
threatens to stop funding party

Ed Miliband will lose the next general
election unless he offers more left-wing
policies such as renationalising
the railways and putting up
the minimum wage, the leader
of the Unite trade union has said,
has he threatened to pull millions
of pounds in funding from the party.
Len McCluskey, whose union is
Labour’s biggest donor, said
“battle” had broken out among
Labour MPs over its election manifesto.
He warned Unite is considering disaffiliating
from the party if it loses the
next election – a prospect he regards
as increasingly likely because it has
failed to present a “cohesive” agenda.
Unite has donated more than £10 million
to the party since Ed Miliband came to
power and disaffiliating would cut off those funds.
