Default Shortlived Popstars the public loved to watch fall from grace

In the case of Hear'say who after a few incredibly successful but in my opinion average songs the public turned on them.

"Everybody" in my opinion should have been the single where they really became "popstars" its their best single to date and had number 1 written all over it but the press had made up their mind and the public followed like sheep.

Heres their performance LIVE on TOTP The song was top 5 but the group and the song were seen as a FLOP so what other examples are there where a song is successful but in the eyes of the public a total flop for buying into printed media?

Now lets all bath in the glory of this....

SIDE NOTE: Hear'say so should have been on The Big Reunion.
