Well according to the poll results, the weekend of the 23rd-25th of May was the most popular choice so that's when I'll be hosting the final countdown, which means Round 1 opens today, closes next Wednesday and Round 2 will open, then that will close on the 21st of May, giving me a few days to get it all together in time for (probably) Saturday night, the 24th of May.

As always, here's an explanation of how it works:

Round 1
You may nominate up to 15 users that you would like to see included in the countdown. You do not have to nominate 15, but the option is there if you wish to do so. At the end of the week, I will count up the nominations and the 50 users with the most nominations will qualify. For example, if 41 users have 5 or more nominations then they will qualify, and then the remaining 9 slots will be filled by the first 9 users to reach 4 nominations. If the final position(s) are filled by users nominated in the same set of nominations, then there will be more than 50 users in the countdown. In the past, the number of nominations received was multiplied by 3, but this will no longer be the case, nominations received in Round 1 will remain unchanged.

Round 2
A shortlist of the 50 (or thereabouts) users who have qualified for Round 2 will be posted in this thread and you then have a week to decide who you will vote for. You must select 10 users (I will not accept votes that have more or less than 10 users) from the list and you must provide reasons for your nominations. Reasons can just be a couple of words saying what you like about that person, but you cannot leave this blank and just using a smiley or a .GIF is not acceptable. You must indicate the order you are voting in, so typically the person you are giving 10 points to at the top of your message and the person getting 1 point at the bottom. Please do not include smileys or weird formatting in your PMs because it makes it more time consuming for me to copy and paste your PMs. Ideally your PM will look something like this:

2) BBstandsforBigBooty - she's got a great set of personalities
3) zyxwvuthahadontknowthealphabetbackwards - helped me with my financial problems when I was in debt and makes a mean steak dinner for two not that I'd know anything about that

5) madspanker12 - makes great posts in Serious Debates
6) TOUCHMYBiiKINI - taught me how to Dougie
7) Belieber-16 - really intelligent and makes great posts
8) IHATEBIGbrother - love how she hates Big Brother
9) Shaun-Fan - think this might be a fake account but they have a great avatar and once told me I had nice hair
10) BritneySpores - has a really great collection of spores

Countdown
I then post the final results on Saturday the 24th of May in a lovely thread where there's lots of suspense and usually a lot of hilarity too. Any questions?

Round 2

You have one week to vote. This round will close on Wednesday 21st May at a time to be decided later on in the week. You must select 10 users from the shortlist of 50 given. You must rank them in order of preference, from 1st to 10th. 10 points go to your 1st place, 1 point goes to your 10th place. You must provide reasons for your votes. You may say as little or as much as you like about each of the 10 people on your list, but you must give a reason. Please follow the guidelines as given below:

I will not accept votes that:

a) Don't have 10 users on them
b) Include users who aren't on the shortlist
c) Don't include reasons
d) Give a smiley or a .GIF as a reason for voting - you can mention these, of course, but it makes it a pain for me to copy and paste if you're using forum smileys or .GIFs in your PMs to me. If you specifically wish me to include a smiley then for example say : joker : and when I'm putting the paragraphs together I'll know to take the spaces out; or if you want to use a specific .GIF or .JPG then just paste the URL instead of actually formatting it in your PM to me

So, if anybody who has made the shortlist wishes to withdraw then please let me know as soon as possible - I would have hoped you'd have told me by now anyway, but it's happened before so just covering all my bases here. I would normally reveal everyone who has received nominations but didn't qualify at this stage but just in case somebody pulls out I'll keep that a surprise until the night of the countdown!
