ITV has entered advanced negotiations with Fremantle Media to acquire Neighbours and is understood to have offered up to four times the amount currently paid by the BBC. This deal, if ITV win, could also see the BBC blocking the broadcasting of the show for 1 year. (Hence what ITV did to channel 5 when they acquired Home and Away.)
