Conclusion - everything is rigged to do everything to you lot no matter what they do.
They want to save big characters, then they want to lose them, now they want them out early on, then they want them to win and on and on it goes.

Of course they don't want to lose every big character before the final because everyone would tune out, but they'll definitely sacrifice a few in the series just to say that people watched the eviction interview.
