Nile Rodgers in Big Brother product placement deal
Quote:
Disco music legend Nile Rodgers is to tweet along with tomorrow’s episode of Big Brother 2014: Power Trip in a product placement deal to promote his new compilation album.
As part of an agreement between Channel 5 and Warner Music TV, tonight the housemates will be treated to a party featuring tracks from ‘Nile Rodgers presents Disco Inferno’, which is available now.
Footage of the party will be featured during tomorrow night’s live eviction show, during which Rodgers himself will share his thoughts on Twitter.
Meanwhile, a short advert narrated by iconic Big Brother voiceover Marcus Bentley will invite viewers to vote for which of the housemates had the best dance moves.
“It’s amazingly exciting that Channel 5 and Big Brother are supporting Disco Inferno as they are,” commented Rodgers. “I hope the housemates have a blast and that one of them is ‘The Greatest Dancer’.”
The 61-year-old – who has produced tracks for the likes of Madonna and David Bowie – is known for being one of the founding members of the band Chic, whose hits include ‘Le Freak’.
He returned to the charts last year as a featured artist on Daft Punk’s global smash hit ‘Get Lucky’, which topped the UK singles chart for four consecutive weeks.
Other brands that have product placement deals for this year’s Big Brother include L’Oreal, Ribena and Microsoft, whose Surface tablets are being used to provide housemates with task instructions.
