Shame the rating wasn't great at 10pm.. though saying that the share is pretty impressive!
I just hope the producers, directors, whoever's actually in charge of commission, continues to look at the shares. As we know, this year, more than ever people aren't watching Live TV, so for CBB to hold a 10% share imo is pretty impressive after nearly 15 years, and hopefully the ratings - if they turn out low in the long run - suggest there's still a strong marketplace for Celebrity Big Brother. My main issue is civilian, it got a 5.6% share, compared to Channel 5's annual average of 4.4% of the market.
Just so anybody's interested, I thought it'd be interesting to showcase the shares and ratings of each CBB. (NOTE - The viewers in millions are official ratings, therefore the actual share is not representative of the overall viewing population, but I was interested to see if there's a correlation considering most officials increase 200-300K.)
CBB8 - 2.8M (12%) (S)
CBB9 - 2.6M (10%)
CBB10 - 2.2M (9.4%) (S)
CBB11 - 2.8M (9.9%)
CBB12 - 2.3M (9.9%) (S)
CBB13 - 3.0M (10.9%)
CBB14 - 2.32M (9.4%) (S)
So currently.. CBB14 is pretty much on par with the previous summer series, ever so slightly higher than CBB12. And with the same share as CBB10 of 9.4% the viewing figures for Celebrity Big Brother are extremely stable.
Overall CBB on Channel 5 holds an average of 2.57 million viewers. With an average share of 10.2%.
So in all, the current run of Summer CBB14 is underpar with the total average, however still up on the average in terms of numbers for summer, and on par with the share of 9.4%. Of course, a week's official ratings aren't a lot to go by, but in terms of stability, CBB is doing extremely well. Of course, summer and winter must be spoken of separately.
