Borussia Dortmund have witnessed a spectacular fall from grace, two seasons ago safely runners up to a unbeatable Bayern Munich and losing opponents in CL final. B Dortmund played Arsenal in CL group stages and people began to notice how alike manager Jurgen Klopp was to a "young Wenger". Klopp hinted that he was open to a EPL move in future. Chelsea apparently courted Klopp but Mourinho was unhappy at RM and hinted he wanted to return "where people loved me", Man Utd were linked to Klopp when Fergie left but nothing happened, even Spurs tried it on but settled for Mauricio Pochettino.
Talk was about Klopp coming to take over at Arsenal and Wenger gently handling the reins to him. Fast forward to 2014 and apart from meeting and beating Arsenal yet again in CL group stage, B Dortmund have very little to cheer about. 2nd from bottom in Bundesliga. Only sleeping giants Werder Bremen are below them.
Obviously injuries haven't helped, but even smaller clubs with less resources have coped with injuries. Klopp looks like a man fed up of Bundesliga and the inevitable title for Bayern Munich every season. Thanks to socalled financial fair play as soon as good players emerge from elsewhere eg Gotze, Lewandowski, Bayern Munich just buy them. What now for B Dortmund, Klopp and what does this mean to EPL and Arsenal who were looking to Klopp as the next "exciting sexy" young manager ala Mourinho, Pep G, AVB etc.
