I think Stu's cowboy hat was linked to one of his "personas" in the house. It obviously gave him a good sense of identity, bless him. Bit mean to burn it ... but what else could they have burned .....???

Victor's burgundy spotty trousers
Jasons' minging white dressing gown
Dan's black checked dressing gown
Shell's ballerina skirt
Michelle's ponytail bands

... the list could go on!
