Disgraced Emily says sorry DISGRACED housemate Emily Parr has made a heartfelt public apology after being removed from the house for making a racial remark to fellow housemate, Charley.
She said, “This is not an excuse this is an explanation. I would never try to excuse what I said. I said something awful and I’m so sorry.”
Dressed in a white t-shirt and blue leggings, the 19-year-old Bristol student looked extremely remorseful being interviewed on Big Brother’s Little Brother as she attempted to explain her side of the story.
Emily said, “It’s a friendly term you know, making fun of people, being in a group.”
Presenter Dermot O’Leary asked her if she understood that the word causes offence now, Emily replied, “I’ve always known that, gosh, I’m sorry, completely wrong, there is no denying that. But I can’t take it back. I’m so sorry. Sorry what was the question.”
Looking visibly upset, the drama student fought back the tears as she described her fellow housemate, Charley as a great girl who was on her level and hoped that she understood that it was banter and she didn’t mean anything by it.
She added, “As soon as I said that, I was like what was that, where did that come from?
"I’m so glad that Channel 4 allowed everything was aired because people needed to see the context of where it came from.
“I’m not racist. I can’t stress that enough. I’m just a liberal girl living in a liberal society.”
Almost 1000 people have complained to Channel 4 - that Emily Parr was wrongly thrown off Big Brother for using the N-word on Wednesday night.
