Quitter Lesely: I Could\'ve Won
Quote:
QUITTER LESLEY: I COULD'VE WON OLDEST Big Brother contestant Lesley Brain quit the show yesterday - then bizarrely claimed she could have WON.
The 60-year-old retired business executive had complained she was bored.
Talking to Big Brother about why she was going, Lesley said: "I think I would like to say that I believe I could have won it or certainly been there towards the end.
"I actually think one way or another I could have won it."
Big Brother replied: "But you are choosing not to try to win it or be there toward the end."
Lesley answered "Yes, I have weighed it up" and promptly left the house.
Earlier in the week she told Big Brother: "I am more bored than is acceptable to me in the sense that I have better things to do."
Yesterday Lesley, from Gloucestershire, said: "I have been here 10 days. I have, during that time, contributed and have felt able to do so.
"I feel that I contributed well, but my strength and energy in that department is running out. I didn't make friendships - I never got anywhere like that. But, you know, I've formed slight bonds with people and they were lovely and gracious.
"I would like to say 'thank you' for the opportunity. It has been a wonderful opportunity - however short in terms of the whole programme."
Lesley, a member of the Women's Institute, spent most of her last night in the house alone while the rest of the housemates celebrated the arrival of new contestants Seany O'Kane and Gerry Stergiopoulos.
