Default Madonna drags her haters after pushing back tour dates

Quote:
Can't step to the Queen! It's been quite a week for Madonna, who defended herself against haters after naysayers criticized the commercial success (or lack thereof) of her new studio album, her decision to push back her Rebel Heart tour, and her never-ending quest to push boundaries.

The constantly reinventing icon, 56, took to Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday, May 20 to defend herself. She posted a selfie in which she can be seen wearing a monogrammed necklace and studded accessories, with her recently dyed pink hair also on display.

"Shut up jealous bitches!" she captioned the shot. "I hope you are as fun loving and adventurous as me when you're my age!!!! Hahahha let's see. #bitchimmadonna #rebelheart."

The album Madonna promoted in her hashtags has seen a bit of a rocky release. Just one day after she shut down said "jealous bitches," the "Ghosttown" singer was forced to deliver some bad news about the promotional tour for Rebel Heart.

Madge was supposed to begin the international concert series on Aug. 29 in Miami. She announced on Thursday, May 21, however, that the kickoff date is being pushed back and she will play her first Rebel Heart show on Sept. 9 in Montreal, Canada. This shift affected a few later dates in the schedule, changing plans for those attending her shows.

"As my fans already know, the show has to be perfect," the star said in a statement. "Assembling all the elements will require more time than we realized. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my fans. I can promise you this show will be worth the wait. Can't wait to share it with all my Rebel Hearts out there."

Rebel Heart, which is Madonna's 13th studio album, has been the least commercially successful in her 35-year career as of yet. Released in March, the project — despite glowing reviews from many critics — managed to hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200, but has since dropped precipitously on the chart.

"The thing I love most about being famous is people listening to me when I have something important to say," Madonna told Us Weekly exclusively in March. "The thing I like least about being famous is being overly scrutinized for everything I say and do."
