I agree he does seem a little bit quieter lately,and I hadn't thought about why that might be, but think you make a good point and are right that it could be because of being called fake.
I think it will pass eventually though and we will get to see more of his more overtly funny side again (to go along with his current more subtle unintentional funny side.)
