If he lasts long enough he'll act out conspicuous acts of kindness. Possibly directed by the producers, like Darren's 'Tin Man has a Heart' task. People like him are very predictable with setting the bar low "yeah that's right, I am a jerk" and then any positive behaviour is seen as some glorious breakthrough. It's all calculated, but it works.

Yes people don't transform in a few weeks like that all seems very calculated.
