P!nk and Demi Lovato VMA drama
Quote:
Bored of the Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus feud at the MTV Video Music Awards?
Pink is the latest star who's been dragged into some VMAs drama, as she defended herself over a private Instagram post she seemingly wrote.
In the apparent message, she dismissed most of the performers at this year's event as "gross", "embarrassing" and "trash".
"I felt embarrassed and sad," she said. "And old. We're getting old.
"But in all seriousness, I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won't save any kid's life. In a world that is even scarier and with lives still worth saving, who will stand up and have soul? Disenfranchised to say the least.
"Let down by my industry and peers, beside Macklemore and Pharrell and Bieber (pre-sob fest) and The Weeknd. Tori Kelly was dope too.
"The rest was gross and embarrassing and hard for this ageing popstar to believe."
Performers included Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, and it seemed like the Lovatics had a lot to say to Pink on social media in response to what she had said.
"Please look for a feud elsewhere," Pink later tweeted. "I have no issue with Demi Lovato or anyone else. I actually forgot she performed.
"I have opinions. MANY. I stand by what I said. However, I didn't intend for the angry people of the world to latch on and make it into something it isn't.
"You know, this is why I'm sad about the VMAs and the world in general. Everyone is so nasty and waiting for a fight."
Lovato, who performed her hit 'Cool for the Summer' at the VMAs, responded on her own Twitter, speaking up for the awards ceremony.
"'Cool for the Summer' may not 'save kids' lives' or 'inspire' but I'd say 'Skyscraper' and 'Warrior' have done a pretty good job of helping people cope with mental illness," she wrote.
"VMAs are sexy and fun. There's a time and place for everything."
