FURIOUS Big Brother fans bombarded The Sun yesterday after bosses cut Ziggy’s romp with Chanelle.
One disappointed viewer blasted: “If people are not happy then they can always switch off.” Big Brother producers cut the live feed as the lovebirds fumbled under the duvet despite it being 3.15am — well after the watershed. Viewers had watched as Ziggy, 26, and Chanelle, 19, panted under the sheets. But just as the action heated up the switch was pulled — and fans were left watching bland outdoor scenes and listening to birdsong. The move was slammed by unhappy viewers who contacted Sun Online to vent their anger. JJ from Cardiff complained: “They are both consenting adults and it is no different to scenes shown on TV after the 9pm watershed. “It seems to me that if people are not happy to see these sort of things then they can always switch off.” Walshy from the West Midlands added: “They are in a house, they like each other — they should be able to get up to things. “I’m gutted we can’t see it.” But last night a BB spokesman denied the scene was cut deliberately, claiming: “It was just a normal cutaway.” She added: “Big Brother has never shied away from showing how housemates’ relationships have developed. “To confirm what the housemates did or didn’t do under the duvet you will have to ask them when they come out.” This is the SECOND time BB bosses have censored Ziggy and Chanelle’s antics. The Sun revealed last month how execs claimed the pair’s flirty scenes were too graphic for the Channel 4 highlights show. An insider said: “It would have had to be too heavily edited so they decided not to put it in.” The decision to cut the scenes come despite bosses vowing to make this series fun and sexy. They packed the house full of women — and then sent in hunky Ziggy. Observers suggested the producers are playing safe to avoid offending viewers after the Celebrity BB race row scandal. A few fans applauded the decision. One told The Sun: “It’s sick and I’m glad that their sexual behaviour is not shown.” c.robertson@the-sun.co.uk |
