Default Adele Opens Up about Body Shaming

ADELE has opened up about being a victim of body shaming - after being played by Miss Piggy in an unflattering spoof video.

The singer, whose new record 25 is on course to become the fastest-selling album in UK history admitted she finds the obsession with her weight "annoying".

She said: "I don't make music for eyes, I make music for ears.

"I've always been asked questions about my body, weight, size and style and I totally understand. It's a little bit annoying that men don't get asked that question as much.

"It seemed to astound people that I was plus side and being successful. I don't care anyway. You don't see music, you listen to music, so what does it even matter."

Adele's comments come after her video for Hello was recreated by Miss Piggy, complete with moody sepia-tone and a crazed ex in the shape of Kermit The Frog, to promote the new US series of The Muppets.

While tongue-in-cheek, some fans weren't sure if the star, 27, would enjoy the comparison.

Twitter user @chloeemckinish said: "okay wtf, whats with the adele and miss piggy comparison? Thats so rude."

"It seemed to astound people that I was plus size and successful" PA

Others described it as "*******ed up", "kind of insulting" and "a bit harsh".

Adele tackled perceptions about her size last week. She said: "I do have body image problems, for sure. But I don’t let them rule my life, at all.

"There’s bigger issues going on in the world than how I might feel about myself and stuff like that. There’s only one of you, so why would you want to look like everyone else?"
