There is a having a laugh and then there is gloating on a scale that just becomes spiteful and baiting. There's nothing nice about relishing other peoples disappointment in a completely OTT way - people who supported and spend money on their fave for 5 weeks.
If John had been a great fave and someone had a thread about John's poor showing with over the top smilies and gloating, would you have liked it? You always defended him against the smallest criticism, and nothing wrong with that. But it showed you cared and therefore it would have stung if people were gloating that he didn't do well.
I had gone off Tiff but I felt the gloating was just too self indulgent and mean - spirited.
