[One officer is killed and a colleague seriously wounded after being hit by a car near to a motorway service station.
Adam Gibb, 51, from Penrith, Cumbria, was hit by a car on the M6 near Tebay Services.
Another officer, who has not been named, was airlifted to the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough in a serious condition.
The Highways England officers had been responding to an incident on the southbound M6 between junctions 38 and 37.]
