When this year's BB started, it had such promise. The contestants were quite varied.
Looking back now, and compared to Charley's most recent outbursts towards Gerry, I really think it was a big mistake for BB to broadcast and gain publicity from Emily's racial slur. It should never have been aired, and she should have got a strict warning, but should have stayed in the house on the condition she wouldn't ever use such language again. I also think Laura and Charley should have got equal punishments for using derogatory terms also. I believed Emily was a different type of character in the house; she wasn't all barbie, but she wasn't all mouthy either. I also thought Lesley balanced the group nicely, and BB should have catered more for her type of interests, perhaps a little less bubbly cheery tasks and something more conservative to at least show her age is cared and catered for within BB. Her staying would have added a lot more diversity to what is now a very stale group. I also think the dynamics would have been more interesting if her and Jonathon met, along with Carol, and the 3 could have united as an older group within the house. Lesley leaving was another downfall to this series. I personally believed that BB noticed these 2 characters, (among others like Seány, Billy and Nicky), were essential in creating conflict in that house, because they added diversity to the group. But then they left. Charley now became the only person causing conflict. Realising that if Charley was evicted, the group would ultimately unite into one happy partying mass of people, (much like the bore that was BB4). This is where it totally all went wrong for BB, because they decided to edit and misrepresent other characters and create newer hate figures so Charley could remain beneath the limelight and not get evicted. From this point, the show was branded a fix. As Charley survived, everyone soon realised the show was swaying her way, and for the first time it was clearly visible that BB's editing was the most shocking in all of its series. The misrepresentations of Brian, Nicky, Carole were unfair, and this has led to many outcries from the public. And unfortunately for BB, it's had to create scapegoats for Charley to survive, starting with Shabnam, and going through all the evictees ending with Nicky. Each and every one of those evictees i felt were evicted due to having some connection with Charley, and BB never lost the opportunity to shine them in as bad a light as possible. And the crucial stage has been reached. With Nicky evicted, Charley can't survive ANY LONGER. It would be impossible to escape eviction this week, and would cause outrage if she wasn't up. When Charley leaves, there is simply no more conflict in that house, and it would plunder to the ground, much to the horror that was BB4. I really can't work out where exactly this post is going, and im not a charley fan at all. I'm just upset that what was once a very promising group of people at the start of this series has been reduced to a mass bore, with Charley perhaps the only talked about person in there on these forums. I guess this is the danger of BB, but i feel if we swapped the current members in BB with all the evictees, we would have a more entertaining BB... Gosh what a confusing post!!! sorry!!! from nick4859 ch4 forum |
