Default Big Brother to run until at least Christmas in new UK TV experiment (Aprïl füls)

Quote:
During it's 10 year run on Channel 4, Davina McCall would state 'Say goodbye to your summer'- however in bold new plans, viewers will now also be saying goodbye to their Autumn and Winter as Channel 5 decide to try and create a 'record breaking series' for the UK platform.

In an attempt to clean up Channel 5's image to the average UK person after the purchase by Viacom, the series will now be focused on a 'back to basics, social experiment' concept that was seen in the first edition in 2000. A spokesperson representing Viacom's UK operations explained 'We think after all the glitz and glamour over the years and over the top editing seen in the Desmond era; that a simple approach will be an entertaining throwback for the show and reflect the results of 'real life' shows such as Gogglebox, The Secret Life of Dogs, and 24 Hours in A&E- all of which being loved by many for its showcase of real people and real situations'

This comes after planning permission was approved for a new extension on the house, perhaps to fit more people in the record long series that is said to 'last until at least Christmas'- something seen in series such as the format's German edition, in which it lasted for 365 days and was set to last forever- that is, until it was then cancelled and cut short for low ratings.

A none-tabloid paper reporting about the show?! Must be a good sign

However I think that running it through December is an absolute piss take and it's going to tank by like August/September.
