Default Hospital evacuated after 2 explosions in France

A hospital in southern France has been evacuated after two explosions and a huge unexplained blaze badly damaged the building.

Thick black smoke was seen coming from the hospital in the town Annonay, in the Ardèche department of southern France this afternoon.

The building was engulfed in flames after two blasts, officials revealed, amid reports two gas cylinders had exploded. Emergency crews are still at the scene.

According to Le Dauphiné Libéré, two explosions were heard around 3.20pm in the laundry area of the building. It is understood that two acetylene gas cylinders exploded in the fire.
An emergency meeting was carried out while hundreds of residents gathered in the town square as the drama unfolded.
