Default Question about mixing NHS + private services

I had an operation on the NHS two weeks ago and it didn't help at all, as in the problem it was supposed to heal has not even slightly improved... it's as if I never had the operation. I was supposed to have a follow up appointment this Friday but I couldn't make it because I have another appointment that day, so it was rearranged to February. I've had this problem since May, it's super uncomfortable and I'd really rather not put up with it for another two months before finding out what else might be able to be done, then waiting another month or two for a second procedure.

The doctor also does private appointments at the same hospital. Does anyone know if it's possible for me to pay for the follow up consultation to be done privately sooner, then go back again to his NHS services for subsequent treatments? idk if ur allowed to swap in and out of nhs/private treatment like that but I'm a poor student I can't afford to pay for more than just an appointment.
