björk has announced a new single, “the gate,” out september 18. It follows the recent news that her new album is “coming soon.” on a listing page for the vinyl—out september 22 on one little indian—björk writes: “the gate is essentially a love song, but i say ‘love’ in a more transcendent way. Vulnicura was about a very personal loss, and i think this new album is about a love that’s even greater. It’s about rediscovering love – but in a spiritual way, for lack of a better word.”

since releasing 2015’s vulnicura, björk has released the strings version of the record, as well as a live version. Last year, she launched the björk digital virtual reality exhibition, which features several vr videos for songs from vulnicura. She’s since released a career-spanning songbook called 34 scores for piano, organ, harpsichord and celeste.
