Default The Deuce [HBO, From the Creators of The Wire]



'A look at life in New York City during the 1970s and '80s when porn and prostitution were rampant in Manhattan.'

Stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and from the creators of The Wire. The first 2 episodes have aired on HBO so far and it got renewed for a second season today. The first episode will air on Sky Atlantic in the UK on Sept 26.

Its first season has been met with critical acclaim: The Deuce has received critical acclaim from critics. On Metacritic, it has a score of 86 out of 100 based on 33 reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 91% approval rating with an average rating of 8.72 out of 10 based on 49 reviews. The site's critical consensus is, "The Deuce again demonstrates David Simon's masterful grasp of urban grit, while never losing detailed sight of its colorful characters."
