Because he's Lewis' friend. They already tried with a poll to save him this week, so to ensure the house vote would go their way they needed to guarantee there was no way he was leaving.

Well just in case Lewis didn't win the gamchanger, knowing full well Cameron wouldn't evict Lewis. It was the safe bet.
