They have tried but it's physically impossible with the technology that excists today. I dunno what technology will be developed in the next 50 years but its predicted that within about 40 years the entire structure of the wreck will collapse in on itself like a deck of cards. and within 100 years there will be nothing left but small deposits of metal on the seabed.
