Mess there was a sequel with Tyra Banks and Busta Rhymes and in it Michael kills Laurie so what that didn’t happen anymore?

None of the sequels have any connection to the new movie. Halloween (2018) is a direct sequel to Halloween (1978) there is even a nod towards Halloween ll where Allyson says Laurie being Michaels sister is BS, that plot was added in Halloween ll.

Resurrection is terrible though.
