I have to say I'm a little cynical as it sort of seems like EA have been like "Fortnight is popular! Overwatch is popular! Free to play with microtransactions YAS!" and then have sort of created a frankengame out of that thinking.
I'll give it a go but I'm highly suspicious that it's going to lack anything resembling a soul
