And for some reason, reality TV stars are often at the head of the queue of people who think they're serious A-listers.
So it's no surprise that Jade Goody - with her freshly implanted breasts - is of the opinion that it is she and not that Colleen McLoughlin who should be appearing in Vogue.
The former Big Brother contestant is shocked by the news that the upmarket magazine is keen to feature Wayne Rooney's fiancee.
Failing to see the irony behind why she herself is famous, Jade snarled:
"It left me gobsmacked. If she weren't dating Wayne, she would never have got in," the Daily Mail reports her as saying.
Jade is of course, more than happy to offer her services to Vogue should they need her:
"It's not as if I don't shift mags. I'm a big seller - so I'm told."
