We had a suite with a terrace at the Bernini Hotel in Rome for our honeymoon. It was about £1800 a night and was very much a once in a lifetime thing. I justify it by the fact we had a really small wedding.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris one Easter weekend and had a nice room in Dubai for Mr C 40th, mainly when we go away we go low to mid range as long as it’s clean with a decent shower as we spend most time out of the hotel so not too fussed, some expensive hotels have the staff going a bit over board on the servitude attitudes which doesn’t sit right with us either
