you are not understanding the mentality of americans. It's a huge country, most americans don't give a crap what happens in another state, its the equivalent of a different country. Texas still views itself and wants to be separate from the rest of america so they wont give a crap what the federal government think. That comes before you even start talking about different states views on guns

It's not even a case of people being "gun nuts", having the right to own a gun is just seen as, well, a right over there. Even the "American equivalents" of most of the people we all know would be lukewarm at best toward the idea of massive change.

100 million + Americans have rights to carry a gun. The amount of these types of mass shootings is less than 100 in this century. That tells you that 100 millions of Americans arne't going around shooting people just because they have a gun.

I'm saying there's less than a 100 of these types of shootings where some insane maniac just randomly starts shooting innocent people. That would be my guess. If I'm wrong then I won't be wrong by much. Certainly nowhere near to the over 100 million people who have the right to own a gun. So the very, very, very large majority of people are not going around just randomly shooting innocent people and are instead responsible gun owners, those are the ones I think you'd like to go after and take away their possesions for other people's crimes?

According to that reading of the US constitution, all gun controls are unconstitutional. A five year old should be entitled to handle a full automatic assault rifle. It's in the constitution ...
