he suffered injuries to his arms and hands too as he was probably trying to protect himself. Someone attacking you with a hammer is attempted murder because they don't do it to give you a bit of a fright

It's always played down when someone famous has an accident or is attacked.

When Salman Rushdie was attacked, the first I heard was that he 'walked away with a few scratches.'

Accused Paul Pelosi attacker was in US illegally on overstayed visa

The 42-year-old suspect was born in Canada in 1980 and was in the US as early as 2001, sources said, citing his valid Social Security number, which can only be obtained with a job.

The Social Security number was obtained in Hawaii, sources said. It’s unclear how long DePape stayed in the country past the legal threshold.

Something about this smells fishy. Their mansion wouldn't be so easy to break into, it would probably have an advanced alarm system, if not actual security guards, and (relatives of/) rich elderly politicians would be a priority for the police. Why would the assailant wait until the police arrived before attacking him?

I'm not saying it's all lies, but it certainly seems like there's more to it than there seems.

Certainly odd. There's definitely more to it than meets the eye.

decided to threaten him for more money

I dunno. What I do know is that I don't think it was a simple break-in with the intention of hurting Nancy.
