the BBC have suspended him, so, they think he has given the BBC a bad name too. You seem to have forgotten that the general public is legally libel to pay this persons salary, so the public have a right to expect a certain level of behaviour from employees
if it is true that this person phoned the guy and put pressure on him to drop the story, and then provided him with a team of lawyers. It stinks
