Default Chief Executive Tony Chambers getting the blame for Lucy Letby. Just or unjust?

Opinions please.

I feel there's definitely a case to answer here.

"it was reported Mr Chambers' attempt to become permanent chief executive of Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust was halted by ex-staff who were 'outraged and distressed' following his handling of Letby's case.

He most recently held a senior position at Queen Victoria Hospital in West Sussex, where he earned £60,000 for four months' work before stepping down in May - shortly after Letby began testifying in her trial.

Mr Chambers, himself a former nurse, is believed to have earned over £500,000 between January 2020 and June 2022 and had amassed a £1.08million pension pot when he left the Countess of Chester Hospital in 2018.

He told BBC's Panorama his comments to consultants had been taken out of context, denied telling colleagues that Letby had 'done nothing wrong' and says he was paraphrasing a comment made by her father."

It isn’t for journalists to hound people outside their own homes.
He will face the enquiry and hopefully the outcome will dictate what happens.

His salary was his salary. It wasn't hush money for covering for a potential murderer.

If you particularly enjoy conspiracy theories, I increasingly wonder if there's a lot more to the Letby case that meets the eye. I reckon there's a whiff of scapegoating. Convicted on largely circumstantial evidence in a jury trial...

Peter Hitchens made the case for this last Sunday, and he spoke a lot of sense. Also saw a program that had looked at other similar verdicts and the reasons they'd been overturned.

If she didn't write a journal, it probably wouldn't have got this far.

I'm friends with all conservative writers although he is partially sane on a lot of issues.

Don't worry, Alf, just because I was kissing Peter, it doesn't mean I don't still love you. A girl gets overwhelmed and confused from time to time.

Sorry Slim, I couldn't resist. Just you speaking in favour of Peter Hitchens shocked me.

He's a former trot, and still has some good ideas around unionising and public ownership.

He's nearly there
