That seems scandalous Zizu. We pay just over 200 pounds a month. We are with British Gas.

£190 per month for us now after the reductions

Na the wife sends In monthly readings ..

We have an 60 years old gas central heating boiler / system and I run 10 snake vivariums so we expect to be paying more than the average but £367 seems excessive

I have a key for electricity and a card for gas.
Pay as you go.

I just got one of those pay as you go smart meters. I've really tightened my belt with it all. Nothing is left on stand by, all appliances are switched off at the wall when not in use (except the fridge freezer). I charge my lamp thingy at work. Only shower now, no baths. And my heating won't be going on until i can see my own breath indoors Well, not really, but i have this lovely fluffy dressing gown a friend brought me for when i need it. But the weather is still fine for shorts and t-shirt at night in my place. Also, as it's mainly only me here atm, i can just do a wash twice and week and hang my clothes on a clothes horse to dry during the day. Or outside if im home.

I reckon for both combined im spending about £100 a month max now.

I have pay as you go, but old meter.
I usually put 10 £ each and that lasts me a week.

Pay as you go is the most expensive way to pay for gas and electric
Paying 3 monthly bills is next most expensive
Direct debit is the cheapest

Change your energy supplier first they may be overcharging as they tend to do with loyal customers
