They have to record their viewing habits on the box which are automatically sent to BARB which then undergo a series of procedures to get an overall rating for a show. Viewing figures are recorded in 100,000's and millions which is why we always have something like 0.7m, 5.6m, never 3,959,492. With about 100-300 people at an eviction, the figures won't be affected.
