the runway length

3.505 meters long in total

this plane took off after covering 2.460 meters, they had 1.000 meters of runway left

did they took off too early, with lack of engine thrust? combined with the hot weather 43C, which also wears down on the plane's performance honestly

combined with it having been a full aircraft, passengers, luggage and fuel wise

so
Quote:
For a fully loaded Boeing 787-8 in 43°C heat, the engines (GE GEnx-1B) would typically need to deliver close to full rated thrust — around 64,000 pounds of thrust per engine
and we know the captain before the crash said ''no thrust, no power'' they were far below that obviously

so why not abort takeoff if you go too slow?

they had a warning about the right engine, not having enough power, before V1

they could've aborted takeoff, but why would such highly qualified pilots make such a amateurish blunder

…he climbs through a hole to jump and survive and the day after his release from hospital, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is carrying his brother’s coffin at his funeral…it’s just beyond imagining…

the bigger question still remains

why not abort take off, since V1 was likely not existent with very little engine thrust, and the fact you don't hear the engines doesn't mean they weren't rotating, but could be that they remained at idle for whatever reason, my thoughts, a blocked pitot tube feeding the computer the wrong information

murder suicide it is then

question now is which of the pilots committed that, i think the first officer

with the captain being distracted informing the cabin crew with takeoff instructions or something

giving Kunder an opportunity to cutoff the fuel from the engines

Quote:
In those final moments, it was Captain Sabharwal who issued the Mayday call and was heard saying, “No thrust, no power,” trying to make sense of the sudden loss4. The cockpit voice recorder captured him asking, “Why did you cut off?” and the other pilot replying, “I didn’t,” suggesting confusion or denial. Notably, First Officer Clive Kunder’s voice wasn’t heard again after that exchange
Quote:
Crew Resource Management (CRM) training emphasizes teamwork, verbal coordination, and shared decision-making—especially during crises.

️ After Captain Sabharwal said “No thrust, no power” and asked “Why did you cut off?”, Kunder’s reply—“I did not do so”—was the last thing heard from him.

From that point until impact, only Sabharwal’s voice was recorded, including the Mayday call. That silence raises questions about Kunder’s condition, awareness, or possible incapacitation.
Quote:
Fuel Control Switch Operation
Here’s how the process works:

Location: The fuel control switches are located below the thrust levers on the center console of the cockpit2.

Settings: Each switch has two positions:

RUN – allows fuel to flow to the engine.

CUTOFF – stops fuel flow, shutting down the engine.

 Safety Mechanisms:

The switches are spring-loaded to stay in place.

Each switch is protected by guard brackets on either side.

To move a switch, the pilot must lift it over a metal stop lock before toggling it4.

Intentional Action Required: This design means a pilot must consciously pull up and flip the switch—it cannot be bumped or moved accidentally

the fuel switches must've been deliberately set from RUN to CUTOFF

also the fact that the first officer doesn't say much after the captain's question if he cut off the fuel, which he replied ''i did not do so'' also is unusual, considering in a crisis like this, you'd normally expect the pilots to work as a team, constantly communicate, coming up with ideas to get out of this situation but him remaining quiet makes you think was he physically unwell, or was he mentally not fit to fly

what we know about first officer Kunder, he is described as ''a young aviator full of promise'' ''best of his class'' ''especially performed excellently in the emergency scenario simulations''

but maybe something in his personal life what was a red flag

yes, but it only could've done deliberately by one of the pilots, can't have been accidentally either

i say the first officer, since we hear the captain being surprised regarding ''no thrust, no power'' and he tried to save the aircraft in those final moments, while the first officer was quiet

so was this a murder-suicide, or was the first officer fatigued or physically unwell

and based on how many safety mechanisms you have at the fuel switches, my guess is the former, rather than the latter, since it is very complicated to access those switches

but the first officer wasn't in a relationship with someone, he was very close to his family, he was very religious (went to church every day) was well trained, highly educated almost became a captain, and its also likely captain sabharwal had been one of his instructors so they respected each other

that is what makes this weird

captain sabharwal though, also no motive for murder-suicide, he was a elite pilot for air india, wanted to retire in two or three months from now to take care of his 92 yr old father full time, whom he visited also every day neighbours had verified, in terms of a life insurance, well no, just your regular insurance policy from air india

Because you can't just turn them off without lifting metal covers to do so, so it would have been a deliberate act, might it have been done before the flight took off though is the question I dont even know if that is possible

the plane took off with the correct amount of thrust needed for takeoff, which is V1

so maybe the captain was distracted with other duties at takeoff, watching altitude, communicating with ATC, since first officer Kunder was the pilot flying and he had his hand at the thrust levers obviously, the fuel switches are below that, and they have safety mechanisms especially in case you touch them when going for maximum engine thrust, so yeah it must've been done deliberately

and we know the captain was confused about the lack of engine thrust from the CVR, and also something was said ''why did you cut off the fuel'' in which a reply was ''i did not do so'' the former likely the captain, the latter likely the first officer, since we no longer hear the first officer after that

[Investigations into the Air India plane crash
are looking into the captain, who remained calm
as the first officer panicked about the fuel
supply to the engines being cut off.

A black-box recording of their conversation
suggests that it was the captain,
Sumeet Sabharwal, who turned off the switches,
according to sources close to the
US side of the probe.

The Wall Street Journal reports that US pilots
who have reviewed the Indian investigation
believe first officer Clive Kunder,
who was flying the aircraft,
would likely have had his hands full trying
to keep the Boeing Dreamliner steady.]

NTSB withdraw from this investigation please, go through with your statements

if those indian accident investigators know everything better

there is clear evidence the captain being surprised about the lack of thrust, the last thing we hear before the crash, but if those indians know everything better, bore off

could also be a condition known as microsleep, where you partially aren't conscious, or doesn't know what you're doing, can be fatigue still? since these pilots had to share hotel rooms before flights

and captain sabharwal had a strict sleep routine, if that is disturbed that might explain the lack of concentration

also what if he thought he had his hand at the engine thrust lever, while in reality he had his hand at the fuel switches and he put them to cut off unknowingly

also that mayday call of his, makes you think this wasn't suicide, he was trying to save the plane in its final moments

also lots of protest at air india, before this crash

25 crew members got fired either apparently, and this might've also played a factor for their morale, especially a experienced pilot and instructor what sumeet sabharwal was
