Now would be the perfect time for Berridge, Tony Jordan and Sarah Phelps (amazing writer) to come back to the show, with the Slaters becoming more central (Kat moving back into the Vic., Zoe coming back). These are people who knew how to construct character and write for them exceptionally well. I’d love to see Berridge have another go in more settled circumstances. I’ve got more faith in her than Wadey, who seems ultimately Hollyoaks-bound and wants to take this show back to the dark days of 2015 (it probably won’t be quite-as bad as 2011-13, 2017-18 or 2020-21; probably more like the second half of DTC’s reign). I don’t trust him. Walford Web seem to be in two minds about him.
