Kimmel also criticized Trump's mourning of Kirk, pointing to a video of Trump's comments on the White House lawn. "This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish," Kimmel said.

His comments are terrible, but FCC got involved and said they could take ABC's license, which might be why they made this decision. Not right.

Antifa should've been designated the moment they began showing up during protests to incite riots for their cause. That could've happened under Biden as well... would that have been any better?...

Our Federal institutions are political in nature and their policies are driven by the administrations they work under. Propaganda likes to talk of our institutions as supreme glorious entities of objectivity, but that's not true. Trump runs the Federal Govt, so there's no way around that. He gets at least some say in the agencies he overlooks by whom he appoints. Just as the past 3+ Presidents have tried pushing past the Legislative Branch with Executive Orders. (Edit: Modern Presidencies are fans of enacting through EOs and putting pressure on the Judicial Branch)

Neither of those issues are new and it became a problem as Congress started forfeiting their duties. Congress has the ability and the obligation to move things along with legislation and depressurize our political environment. Instead, they're keen to keep up the divisions and chat **** at cameras rather than make changes that would put more people at ease... now various branches have been getting directly more involved in the running of the individual States, which is also not how it's supposed to work. Frankly, I don't even think some of the people currently elected to serve know how the govt is meant to function, which is part of the problem.

The media is inflaming divisions and not being responsible with the people they're employing, but at the same time, there's not really much that can be done without legislation... the FCC is supposed to fill that role currently, so while that part is technically not wrong, that's a lot of power to be given to basically an un-elected agency.

The idea that Fox News is allows to air segments about how the homeless should be euthanised and that those with mental illness should be, too, yet left-wing presenters can't make comment about how CK's death has been politicised (which you only need to look back on this thread to see it has) is INSANE.

You either stand against freedom of expression and speech or you don't. Anyone condoning this latest move, while crying about how 'freedom of speech is under threat because of the left' needs to seek professional help and I mean that with the best of intentions without insult.

I'm not even American and this level of authoritarianism, double-standards and hypocrisy held by the highest level in the World is terrifying.

On the ground in the US, we are having a major reckoning over the state of our political environment. Sinclair's message was posted on their Investor Relations page also, so maybe they were also seeing some pressure from shareholders.

I do find it a bit funny that the amount of people complaining probably far outweigh the number of people who actually watch him. Fewer people watch Network TV or Cable News than in the past... but users always act like cancellations are some big surprise (given dropping viewership). Normal people just go on like normal.
